Spring / Summer 2009
Please forgive me. This update is long overdue. To be honest, I've been so caught up in all the great things going on at Agape' that this has been low on my priority list.
As you read this, it is likely we are in the throes of our summer schedule. Last year we decided to go to one service during the summer months because of the typical lower attendance due to vacations and other activities. We are cozy, yet not elbow to elbow for the most part (except for the balcony! Good Grief, what's up with that?)
One service gives everyone who serves so faithfully during our Sunday service a well deserved break. Another great advantage is that you meet people from another service that you never knew existed. It's like, "Agape' first service, please meet Agape' second service". Please take advantage of this to connect with those you don't usually see. We are so grateful that the Lord is sending many guests each week. We must do our part to make them feel welcomed. Go out of your way to talk with someone you've never met before.
As I write this, we are on day two of our Vacation Bible School. We have close to 100 children participating this year. This is an all-time high, and we give thanks to God. Steph and Susie and their teams are doing a phenomenal job, and we can't thank all of them enough.
Looking ahead, you will want to mark Wednesday, September 9, on your calendar. This is the evening of our annual church meeting. We will be giving you an update on our building renovation plan, and where we are in the whole process. We will also share an exciting format for our Life Groups which we believe will provide some great discussions during our times together.
In closing, may all of you be refreshed and renewed during these summer months.
Be Blessed,
