With the changing of the seasons now upon us, it is an appropriate time to remember that the Lord has established “spiritual seasons” in our lives. Though we are not always fully aware that we are in the midst of one of these seasons, in due time we realize that the Lord is at work in us and through us. I think of the seasons in my own life in the context of a farmer engaged in the necessary labor essential for bringing about a harvest. The field preparation , sowing, weed control, soil enrichment, and then, perhaps, the most stressful aspect of the entire process; waiting. Waiting in hopes of favorable weather conditions to produce an abundant harvest. There is an old saying that says you don’t find many atheists driving tractors. Farmers understand that they must do what is necessary for crop production, but it is up to God to provide the sun and rain necessary for growth. It’s in His hands.
As we embrace whatever it is God is doing in us, we can be assured that in due season God will bring results in our life that will glorify Him. We are in His hands.
In Christ,
Ron
